she refused to be bored, chiefly because she wasn't boring

My brother is at Boy Scout camp, so it's only my sister, me and my parents at home. I dragged the whole family to Midnight in Paris last night. I think it was a sweet movie, but I'm not sure it was worth the $10 movie ticket. I thought the story was cute, and I love Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams. If anything, the scenery was so pretty. My dad (who hated the movie) thought the whole movie looked like a postcard. I did enjoy all of the costumes and the whole 'Paris in the 20's' premise. It was kind of slow and the whole thing was pretty goofy. I do really want to read all of Fitzgerald's work now, more than ever. Currently I am in the beginning of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and should be done re-reading the series by July 15 at midnight :)
I did fall in love with this dress and Marion Cotillard. I think she has such interesting features and such a sultry voice that combined make her so pretty. I kept whispering to my sister the whole time how cute I thought she was. And she was darling in the movie. Really. And I want to know the designers of the costumes. I really loved the flapper dresses and how sparkly and simple they were. There's nothing I would rather wear than an above the knee shift dress.

I kind of want to get tortoise shell glasses. I like the size of mine, but I kind of want different colored frames. But then I change my mind and decide I like black. It' like that with cutting my hair. For a few hours every couple of days, I am convinced that I will get layers in my hair and bangs. And then I change my mind. I've had the same haircut since middle school. I really do love my hair, I just wonder if it would look better if I added some variation. I'm going to the beach next week. I can't wait. And lately, I have been listening to Radiohead's OK Computer on repeat. Seriously one of my favorite albums. I still like The Bends a little better though...

for a minute there i lost myself

I anticipate a lot more frequent blog entries because of my lack of having anything to do in Lancaster.

Last week was spent at Deep Creek Lake, Maryland. It was beautiful and relaxing as always and I also celebrated Maren's 20th birthday. Happy birthday honey! It's weird that my best friend is 20. You know what else is weird? The fact that my student summary on the Route Y says "Junior." When did I become a junior in college? It baffles me.
Sometime last week I watched "No Strings Attached" starring the perfect Natalie Portman and not-at-all-as-perfect Ashton Kutcher. I'm not sure why, but I'm obsessed with this movie. I honestly think Natalie Portman's performance was perfect. She was so goofy and weird and I'm obsessed with her and kind of wanted to date her after I saw it for the first time. "Friends With Benefits" is supposed to come out soon and I feel like it is the exact same premise as this one. I love Mila Kunis and JT, but Natalie is my ultimate girl crush. It's my new go-to feel good film. I'm not sure what that says about me if my feel good film is about a relationship based solely on sex, but I'm ok with it. Judge me.

I won't lie, being home is kind of boring. I filled out some paperwork for J. Crew today but I won't be starting for another 2 weeks or so. I'm not sure how I plan on spending on my time. Oh wait, yes I do. My hard drive crashed a few weeks ago. I lost everything. It still hurts my heart to think about it. Mainly I am most concerned about all of the music I lost. I will be recovering those files. Also, I kept meticulous record of fashion shows and fashion weeks. Like I saved my favorite looks from all the fall/winter, spring/summer, resort, etc. shows and labeled them precisely and I lost all of that as well. I will probably be recovering that too and writing reviews as I reminisce on my favorite shows. It's gonna suck when I have to buy an external hard drive. Any purchase that's not clothes or books sucks to me.

Things to do this summer:
1) Visit Jadyn in Boston.
2) Visit Sean in D.C.
3) Re-read the entire Harry Potter series (I'm on book 3)
4) Recover my music/fashion files
5) Get fit again
6) Shadow a speech therapist
7) Find a car for school
8) Find a maxi skirt that does not dwarf me
9) See Bon Iver (this is happening in August!!!!)
10) Read all of F. Scott Fitzgerald's work
11) Read better books in general
12) Finish The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo series (1 more)

There's more to this list I'm sure.

someway baby it's part of me apart from me

I haven't blogged in years. The above picture is the only pic I got of Iron & Wine. I saw them on the 3rd of June. It was great. I really love that band. We got there late, but nonetheless it was still fun. And I saw my anatomy teacher there, whom I worship. Shoutout to Rachel Tomco: you are the coolest. Guess what? The semester is almost over and I'm going home in 5 days!! But you know what? This semester wasn't even bad. I'm taking American Heritage, Mission Prep and LDS Marriage & Family. Such a breeze. Lol jk, Am Htg. SUCKS. True life I studied for 30 hours for the first test and did terrible. Whatever. I don't care. I should be studying now, but instead I'm blogging and packing. I'm excited to go home, but I haven't been counting down the days like normal. Weird huh? It's ok. I'm starting to see why people decide to stay in Provo. Wait what. Did I really just say that?
Ok everyone needs to get this album ASAP. Bon Iver's self-titled. It's so good. I'm seeing them in August. AH. But seriously. Brilliance.
