the bittersweet between my teeth

 

Can you believe March is nearly over?? I am so HUNGRY for summer, I have no better way to put it. I want hot weather, minimal clothing, chlorine hair and tan. This semester is taking forever and going so quickly at the same time. I'm registering for classes in a couple of days and after spring semester I only need to take 4 more classes for my major and 1 more GE and I will have completed my BYU undergraduate education. Wait what? Yeah. It's the strangest thing to think about.

This weekend has been my favorite I've had in a while. Preston and I rode bikes to the park and had a picnic on Saturday and laid in the grass all afternoon. We rode bikes some more and watched an excellent movie at night. (Movie was Crash. It won best picture in 2004 and I recommend it to everyone). After church on Sunday we watched basketball and I experimented making a new dinner that did not use rice. It turned out well. Lately I have been looking up recipes via realsimple.com. My mom would get the magazine when I was in high school and would sometimes make things out of it. I've spent an embarrassing amount of time looking up recipes. Another reason why I will never get a Pinterest; after looking at recipes/pictures of food I was RAVENOUS. We rode bikes some more on Sunday night. I forgot how nice it is to go on bike rides. It reminded me of when I was in elementary school and biking around my neighborhood til late (9) at night. I had a pink sparkly bike with streamers. I am on the hunt for my own bike now. I wouldn't mind a pink sparkly bike with streamers again. Below is me riding Rique's cute blue bike. I smile just looking at these instagrams and thinking about this weekend. I hope to make it a regular occurrence when the weather is permanently warm.

 

One of my favorite things about summer is summer fashion. Personally, I think I look a lot better in summer clothes than winter clothes. I'd wear a sundress every day if I lived in a place that allowed it. Summer fashion is also my #1 work out motivation. Some things I would like for summer 2k12:

-navy Sperrys

-mint green pants

-new swimsuit, preferably seersucker or some sort of nautical print

-nude pumps

-Aztec print dress or romper

-coral lipstick

I am obsessed with the above print. It's Iekeliene Stange for Marc by Marc Jacobs spring/summer 2007. It's currently my desktop and Twitter background, Path cover and if Facebook ever reverts me to timeline automatically, it will be my FB cover as well. Also obsessed with "Young Blood" by The Naked and Famous. I made a playlist with 6 different versions of it and play it on repeat. Sounds like summer. One more thing- Coachella is in less than a month! WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR?!

I told myself I would post again once I hit 10,000 page views. Mission accomplished! 10,000 is probably not even that much in Blogspotland, but I'M really excited about it. Thanks to all my readers and commenters. It warms my heart to hear that people enjoy little ynna.

Also, IT'S MARCH. Pictured above is how I spent and will spend the remainder of this month's shifts. Remember when BYU made a 25 point comeback against Iona and now said game is the biggest comeback in NCAA tournament history?

The weather is getting nicer too and thanks to daylight savings, I can no longer use the "It's too dark to go running/I don't want to get sexually assaulted" excuse. I like it but it's doing nothing for my motivation to do school work.

 This weekend I went to Vegas for the West Coast Conference with Preston and Grady. See?^ It was a good time despite the pain of last night's loss. This weekend made me nostalgic for last year's Vegas weekend for the Mountain West Conference. I miss the MWC. Even though we would be eaten alive if we were still in it this year, it was fun playing at the Thomas & Mack with all the big schools that I've actually heard of. It was cool to go back to the Orleans Arena to cheer on BYU though. (I went over Thanksgiving with Kylie's family to watch the Rebels and got to see the UNC/UNLV upset. Fun timezzz) Vegas is such an interesting city to me. Like, it's all hotels and casinos. That make up a city. A fully-functioning metropolitan area that attracts millions of people. So much money flowing in and out. So many lights. #musings

Um mostly we watched basketball and shopped and walked. So much walking. My knees hurt. Am I 75? Probably. Guess what? I didn't buy a single thing! Isn't that weird? I was shocked. However I did find the shoes pictured below at a random store and almost bought them but they didn't have my size. I am seriously still fantasizing about these loafers. I remember seeing them on Tumblr last week and thinking, "Those rule. I bet they're $450." And then BAM. There they were at a mall in Vegas for $45. They will be mine.

I am exhausted. I would really love to take a week off school and just sleep, eat Greek yogurt + granola, read books and run in 60 degree weather. You think I'm joking, but that's exactly what I would do if I had a week off school. I'm not sure how I would procure the 60 degree weather in Provo, but this is my fantasy, so whatever. I find myself daydreaming about spring/summer more than I ever have. I just want warm weather. Seriously, I think it would improve all aspects of my life. Today it was 71 in Vegas and all I wanted to do was lie in the grass.

I'm really annoyed because I've been wanting to blog about fashion week, but style.com is doing this weird thing where half of their images are in jpg format and half are in gif and only one format will save as an image on my computer. So there goes 75% of my favorite looks from a show that I want to talk about. (Like Rodarte!^ I LOVED RODARTE AND JUST WANNA TALK ABOUT HOW MUCH I LOVED IT. Is that so much to ask?) It's probably a good thing though because I really shouldn't be looking at fashion week and should actually study for my exams. My motivation left me around December 16 and I have yet to get it back.

Coachella's in 46 days. Which also means 46 days til the end of this semester. 46 days to get my %^$& together.
