Jonsi of Sigur Ros came to SLC last night, and I was in attendance! This pic is after his encore. Check out that headdress. I wanna borrow it for Halloween. So Jonsi (pronounced yawn-see, who knew?) was phenomenal. We got caught in traffic on the way, but we still got really good spots. I have never been to a concert like his. It was magical and just felt so surreal. This entry won't be able to do it justice at all. Basically I felt like I was in a dream the whole time. His backdrop was pretty illustrations of animals and birds and butterflies and he did this little head movement all the time and was very bird-like. Half of it was in Icelandic which is such an interesting language to me. I know a lot of it is probably nonsense, but it's some of the prettiest nonsense I've ever heard. I usually do yoga do Sigur Ros, so it was so weirdly amazing to be experiencing it live. Ahh. I just can't put to words how lovely this concert was. I came out of it with a newfound fondness for nature and the strong desire to abandon my worldly possessions and live in the forest and make headbands out of flowers and call myself Tigerlily.

THE MAGICAL SETLIST. So my top 3 songs (Go Do, Boy Lilikoi and Animal Arithmetic) were played in a row. Best 15 minutes ever. The crowd was so fun too. Everyone was swaying and loving each other. His finale blew my mind. Afterwards I didn't want to listen to any other songs so I wouldn't ruin the memory of it. I mean, don't get me wrong, I really like Jonsi and Sigur Ros, but I had no idea I would enjoy the concert as much as I did. If he's ever in town, GO.

The concert was at a new venue in downtown Salt Lake called The Complex. Right across from Jonsi was Matt Costa. I've never really gotten into him, but I liked the 30 second iTunes clips I heard. Plus he's tall and skinny and reminded me so much of Bob Dylan that night (I mean any tall, skinny, male musician wearing Rays has this effect). So Joni was torn between Jonsi and Matt, but the problem was solved because she was able to switch back and forth between shows. Jonsi ended a little bit before Matt so we went over to check it out. Then we left before Matt's encore and guess who was outside chillin' before his encore? MATT COSTA. Joni, in her adoration and spunk politely asked for a picture and he obliged. Check it out. We met Matt Costa!

This weekend started off great. Friday night I got to see half of the girls that lived in 2200 Taylor Hall at Steph's birthday party in Park City. It was so happy to see girls from freshman year, and Park City is such a cute place. Steph's house was gorgeous as well. Happy birthday Steph!

I need to work on my time management skills because once again, I saved learning the origins and insertions of muscles until the very end, resulting in 30 minutes of sleep Friday night. It was exhausting. I took my anatomy midterm Saturday morning. Another nightmare. Maybe it was all of the caffeine I consumed while studying, but I never felt more nervous to take a test. My hands were literally shaking. Afterwards I felt so overwhelmed, I wanted to cry. An interesting feeling. I went home and tried to sleep until Tuesday, but could only manage an hour before waking up again. This past week, I've felt myself getting sick, but I think my Friday night cram session was the catalyst to the cold I am currently harboring. I've already taken Nyquil and plan on sleeping all day tomorrow. Regardless of whether or not I recover, I have 2 more midterms this week. School is hard.

Oh my gosh, I adore Olivia Palermo. She's so beautiful and look at that coat. Seriously, look at it. This past weekend, I've been so obsessed with coats. All I do is go through all the Outerwear sections on my favorite clothing websites. Since Utah gets so cold and I do a lot of walking on an average day on campus, I want to invest in some pretty coats.

1) Leather moto jacket. I mean, we all know I've been on the hunt for a year and half now.

2) Olivia Palermo's coat. Just kidding, that beauty's probably $1000+ but I do want something ruffled and pretty like that.

3) Trench coat. Obviously Burberry would be ideal, but I want something that I can wear in the rain and on days when it's not too cold. I'm so sick of wearing my North Face fleece jackets all the time.

I finished my homework early, so I decided to treat myself to some frivolous browsing of Paris Fashion Week, and honestly, I was pretty disappointed and then by chance, I looked through the Lanvin show. This has got to be my favorite SS11 collection so far. Yes, even better than Burberry. Did I just say that?

Let's talk about how everything Alber Elbaz sent down was perfect and how I would wear it all. This collection was strong and unbelievably sexy. I used the "move it" feature that lets you see a little clip of each look going down the runway. The gowns were absolutely gorgeous. Starting from the very first look, I was so impressed. So flowy and feminine, but so strong. I'm going to use that word a lot for this review. The next off the shoulder honestly looked like two different looks pasted together for a magazine ad. And how beautiful is Lily Donaldson? The steel blue/grey off the shoulder is so minimal, but so incredibly sexy to me. I love love the bright yellow top in the next look. I have always been a fan of the bandage dresses and skirts, and I thought this was done beautifully with the mustard and longer length of the skirt, instead of the tiny miniskirts you always see bandage used for. Um red off the shoulder gown? Perfect. I am not as into the hemline of the copper off the shoulder, but I love the neckline. The black deep-V is one of my favorite looks. It's so clean and I mean, those are practically ruffles. The final look is so fun to me. I just feel like it would make clinky sounds as you walked and would be perfect to wear out dancing or to a party.

I loved this collection and have so much respect for Mr. Elbaz. It's incredible how male designers can know a woman's body so well and design so perfectly for one. Ugh. Still can't get over this collection.

now my heart stumbles on things i don't know

This has been a great weekend and it started on Friday after 3.5 hours of studying and an A- on my anatomy midterm! I am seriously still so giddy about it. I know it's kind of lame and annoying to talk about grades but you have no idea how hard this class is and how much time I've been putting in. It never ends. But that was the start to my great weekend. And then I celebrated two birthdays- Kaile and my roommate Joni. I made lumpia (Filipino eggrolls) for Joni's birthday and they actually turned out perfect. I was so amazed. My roommates are so much fun. However, I will be fat soon because of all the good food that is constantly being made in our apartment.

Saturday and today were spent listening to the words of our amazing prophet and leaders. I love General Conference so much, and this was such a wonderful Conference as always. I feel like one of the main messages this Conference was the importance of gratitude in our lives. Right off the bat Elder Holland's talk simply thanked all of the people in his life. President Monson's address was focused on this too, and I feel like it was touched upon a little bit each session. I am so thankful for everything I have in my life, and I'm embarrassed at how much I take for granted. Here are some of my favorite quotes from this weekend:
