please your pride telling lies that you're on your own

So long sweet summer. I am definitely listening to that right now HAHAHA. I literally hate Dashboard Confessional so much, but 'Age Six Racer' holds so many memories for me, namely my 8th grade boyfriend's ability to play it on the guitar and make all the girls swoon including me. Shoutout to Andrew. You had great hair.

Summer is over. Pretty much. I am embarking on my final hours in Lancaster until Christmas. Now that I'm typing it, I'm getting a little bit sad. But really, I am so excited to go back to Provo! No seriously, I am. As I've said in my last 14 posts, home has been boring. Yesterday I worked (third time all summer. kill me.) and it became evident to me that my social skills have dwindled, if not disappeared completely being home. The combination of never working and being with my family 24/7 has resulted in a new, super-awkward and almost-stuttering Ynna. It's frightening. I am looking forward to interacting with people my own age again especially my franzzzz and boyfrannn. <3 <3 <3 :) loljknosrsly. I so excited.
All I want for Christmas/my birthday/future wedding anniversary is a Cartier love bracelet. THAT'S ALL NBD.

I am so into jewelry lately namely bracelets and bangles. I just love the look of a mess of gold and silver with random friendship bracelets and leather bands.
Lancaster, you will always have my heart. Provo, I hate you, but I really adore some of your inhabitants. Summer 2k11, it's been real.

dvf fw11

I watched this ad and realized how hungry I am for fall clothes. Not fall the season, although I really do love it. Fall clothes. Sweaters and tights, skirts and boots and coats, coats, coats. I thought this ad was eerily pretty and I fell in love with the polka dot cowl neck in the first scene as well as the back of the sequin red gown in the very last scene, so I decided to check the rest of this show out. Worth it. Diane von Furstenberg FW11 reminded me of the wild west with her flat brimmed black hats and also Moschino FW10 (actual cowboy hats. not cute.) Color palette was gorgeous, so rich and bold.
The polka dot thing is a cowl neck sweater, right? Whatever it is, I'm obsessed with it. And that red coat. Look at it. It's perfect.
Love these colors. Reminds me of berries. Coats in this collection are to-die-for. This and the red one above are my favorites. Next look I love for the metallic. I am always at least a little bit into anything with sparkle, and the metallic-y brocade of the neckline and pants are no exception. The pants remind me of my mom because she has a collection of crazy printed capri pants that she wears in the summer. I like DVF's use of cropped pants for colder seasons.
I would wear both of these in an instant. I am always so impressed when celebrities choose more conservative eveningwear. Maybe it's the Mormon in me that gets excited when I find a dress that already has sleeves, but I think it's incredibly chic when super-sexy women decide to cover up occasionally and opt for sleeves and longer hemlines. I was obsessed when Brooklyn Decker wore the hot pink Michael Kors at the Met Gala this year. Granted, the slit on that one was pretty high, but still it's one of my favorite dresses from an American designer. Isn't it interesting how a floor-length long sleeve gown can have as much sex appeal as thigh high cocktail dress? I think it can. Especially the red sequin gown, which was the second to last look of the show. So gorgeous and the back was beautiful as well.

And unrelated, I have 1 more book to read and I will have completed my summer reading list! That is if I don't visit Border's between now and Saturday. Which is highly unlikely.

sound of your breath in the cold

Last Saturday I went to Boston for five days to see the love of my life, Jadyn Cherry. I fell in love with the city and have now added it to my "places I want to live" list. The weather was great for the majority of our trip, except for my first night. I semi-successfully navigated the subway system my first night. If you know me at all, this is miraculous. I have no sense of direction and never pay attention when I use public transportation. Above is a picture of my on the USS Constitution. Yay America! Actually it was very cool to see all the historical sites and Hahvahd. <--- Just wanted to type that. And I think we walked Newbury Street every day... Oh one day we walked 10 miles.
THIS IS WHERE I WANT TO LIVE. While we were walking down these streets I looked up and saw a sign for a speech pathology clinic. I am obviously supposed to live there.
On my last day we visited the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum. So so cool. This woman had pieces of art from every inch of the world. My favorite part was the courtyard that was located in the center of the museum (pictured above). You weren't supposed to take pictures, so this was my best attempt at capturing its prettiness.

I forgot my real camera, so I apologize for all the Instagram shots. I'm just sOoO trendy.

Summer's almost over and I'm relieved. I've been so bored. But have been reading a ton, as you know. Right now I'm in the middle of The Help, which is just as good as everyone has been saying. Can't wait to finish and see the movie.

it's not a promise, i'm just gonna call it

The beach was great. I've been reading so much this summer. In this picture I'm finishing up Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Here's my current book list:
1) Angels & Demons- Dan Brown
2) Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother- Amy Chua
3) Outliers- Malcolm Gladwell
4) Freakonomics- Steven D. Levitt
5) The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest- Stieg Larsson
6) Choke- Chuck Palahniuk
7) The Help- Kathryn Stockett

I went to Border's yesterday and it made me sad again. I asked the lady if the sales will get any better as they get closer to closing. She said they don't know when, but they should and they're closing around the 31st of August. I have a lot of memories in Border's. Have I told this story before? When I was younger we would go to Border's every Saturday as a family and we were allowed to pick a book and read while we waited to eat at Olive Garden next door. I am eyeing the Harry Potter boxed set. No joke.
Alyanna is so much taller than me.
Last night I saw Bon Iver at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby. First of all, what a cool venue. Second of all, I worship Justin Vernon. It was a really beautiful show. It was also very relaxing. The audience sat in the cushy velvet chairs for the majority of the performance and only stood up for the encore. Which was great because I wore 4 inch wedges. I wish I had a better picture of my outfit, it was very cute.

This was taken during Hinnom, TX, one of my favorite songs from the new album. Mmm so good. If you ever get a chance you should go see Bon Iver, you will not regret it. I'm so glad I impulsively bought the tickets back in June.

All of my Instagram shots of the shows I've been to suck. I'm certain I could put them all next to each other and you wouldn't be able to tell which band/artist was which. Whatever.
